DPI annual meeting 2011

November 15th, 2011 - November 16th, 2011

This year's annual meeting, hosted by Teijin Aramid and AkzoNobel, will be held on 15 and 16 November 2011. The first day, 15 November is for the DPI community only. The second day of the meeting, 16 November, is organised by DPI Value Centre and DPI and will focus on the communities of DPI Value Centre and DPI. This years theme is Towards new polymer materials:

In addition to everyday plastic products, polymers of every description are now increasingly used for demanding (cars, buildings) and advanced (medical) applications. The first plane with a plastic fuselage has already been built and the use of polymers is becoming more widespread in electronics and lighting. The innovations are all the result of groundbreaking fundamental research conducted by scientists who are conscious of the possibilities of using polymer materials for industrial innovation.

During this year's Annual Meeting a number of researchers will present their vision of the latest trends in the use of polymer materials in their disciplines.

We are pleased to invite you to the DPI Annual Meeting 2011, which will be devoted to a discussion of innovations in polymer materials designed to keep up with the wishes and demands of end-users. The ambitious goals in this regard require highly qualified researchers, like you.

Polymer Innovation Day
The second day of the Annual Meeting, 16 November, will focus on the interaction between
DPI's industrial and academic partners, and DPI Value Centre's customers: small and medium-sized enterprises. The theme of the Polymer Innovation Day is:

Join the polymer innovation highway....

The world of polymers is advancing rapidly. The challenge is to apply new technologies and grasp new market opportunities. In the course of the day, a number of entrepreneurs will present examples of recent developments. The central themes of the day's programme are innovation in pursuit of sustainability (the road to green business), new business linked to new enterprises (the road to new business) and applications arising from the valorisation of Intellectual Property (the road from IP to valorisation). Join this innovation highway, before you are overtaken.
